In May 2008 Alex Harper-Brown came to Roatan for only 4 days...4 days rolled into 4 months. In this time she completed her divemaster course then continued onto Florida to become a PADI Instructor. In January 2009 she returned to the lovely Roatan and started working for Native Sons!.

Born and raised in Southern
California, Eddie Nakada grew up surfing
and after college, moved to Utah and worked
at a ski resort for the last 17 years. At
the end of 2009, after many trips diving
and surfing in Central America, he decided
to quit the ski business and move to Roatan.
He did his Dive Master internship at Native
Sons and has worked for us ever since, becoming
an instructor in November 2010.

For the last 13 years, Joshua Alpert has been exploring the earth’s cultures, landscapes and wildlife. A scuba instructor since 2004, he has worked in Maui, Egypt, the Maldives, Panama and here. Besides travel, his main passions are photography, nature, food and outdoor sports such as rock climbing and snowboarding. He teaches numerous specialties and is fluent in English, Spanish and French and conversant in German.

Nancy Rodriguez is the one who will sign you up, keep a tag of your dives and charge you at the end! She is from West End, Roatan and has worked at Native Sons since 2002.

Tommy Grant is a local island man with years of experience as a boat captain. When Alvin launched his new boat Tommy was the man he chose as he had complete confidence in his skills as a boat captain in any conditions. He also has a great sense of humour and a laugh that resonates through the dive shop!
